I will be showing some new work tonight, December 2nd at the People's Food Co-Op in Kalamazoo, Michigan! I will be showing and selling fabric arts with a functional flair. Hot pads, oven mitts and quilts will be on display! Hope you all are well. Today is a day where the sky is bright and the air is crisp. I love this time of year.

OHHH FALL!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR. THE LIGHT BEGINS TO CHANGE, THE SMELLS BECOME SO MUCH MORE AROMATIC AND A SCARF IS THE BEST ACCESSORY FOR THE CRISP AIR OUTSIDE. ALTHOUGH THE SURROUNDINGS ARE DIFFERENT, MICHIGAN HAS WON MY HEART AND JORY AND I ARE SETTLING IN TO A LOVELY ROUTINE HERE. IT IS TIME TO BEGIN TO PAINT AGAIN, ALTHOUGH SEWING HAS BECOME A NEW THRILL IN MY LIFE. BUT, IT IS TIME TO PAINT! MORE TO COME IN THE NEAR FUTURE HOPEFULLY. HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH ALL OF YOU! I am so sorry that i have been neglecting my blog! I was in Florence Italy for some time, eating and enjoying the city on the river. Unfortunately the trip was cut short by about a month as my husband got an amazing job in Kalamazoo, Michigan! So, that is where i am currently living. Much love, Nikki

BIG MOVE

So Jory and I have moved to the Willamette Valley. After returning home from a wonderful honeymoon in Troncones, Mexico the valley is blooming with life and lushness. I am beginning a new project in the next few weeks hopefully. I will be working in ink as oil paints are ideal for studios and as I will be sharing a carpeted craft room, it doesn't seem like the best medium. I love working in ink, and am pretty excited to experiment with something besides my lovely oils. We are hoping to plant a large garden this year as well. It feels like making art, caring for and creating a beautiful space (the garden) that can also sustain most of my family in their produce needs. Well that is about it for me, besides working at my father's sausage company cooking lunch.

I just wanted to say that sadly Jory and I are leaving Bend, packing up our apartment and all of that. Love you all, and I am very sure we will stay in touch!

I will be showing for the month of January at Thump Coffee. Such a great place, come on in and check it out. Also I am the Featured artist for the upcoming event hosted by the organization B Positiv in Hannah's memory as well as it being a fundraiser for childhood cancer. Close to my heart, and something really special to support. If you would like to donate artwork for the event to be auctioned off give me a call or shoot me an email.
